Communities

We design constructive engagement around societal challenges, issues that divide communities or facilitate processes to come to decision-making based on understanding, appreciation and empathy. Our solutions can entail consultations on projects that need constructive engagement, ad hoc facilitation or the initiation and development of entire engagement processes around a societal challenge such as online hate speech, discrimination and racism.

Our impact

We engaged 30.000+ participants from 100+ countries and worked with over 80 institutions across the world. The Net Promotor Score of our programmes is between 50 and 70. We increase access by reaching those that are usually excluded from an international or cross-cultural experience. Participants in our programmes develop core 21st century skills, build relationships and work effectively together. .

Together Against Online Hate Speech

Together Against Online Hate Speech (TAOHS) aims to increase the resilience of civil society organisations, media outlets and authorities to understand and tackle online hate speech on their platforms and contribute to a safer and plural online space. TAOHS is an international project led by a consortium of organisations (Sharing Perspectives Foundation, ichbinhier, FundiPau, Build Up and the University of Amsterdam) across Germany, the Netherlands and Spain to understand, counter and process hate speech. We are now welcoming partners to join us and receive support in managing online hate speech on their platforms.

5 Fundamental Tenets Of Virtual Exchange

Virtual Exchange (VE) is a great way to allow for genuine interaction, learning and relationship development between people in geographically distant locations. Through VE, spaces for effective collaboration are created and cultivated. Using sustained dialogue as a pedagogical tool during the virtual exchanges, helps to foster healthy group formation processes, even between physically remote people.
