The Digital Us Academy
…Climate Justice
CliVEx, formally titled “Climate Virtual ExChange: Enhancing Climate Awareness in Europe and the Southern Mediterranean Area,” is an initiative dedicated to fostering a vibrant intercultural dialogue. Bringing together students from diverse backgrounds in Europe and the Southern Mediterranean region, the project revolves around the crucial issue of climate change.
Our primary goal is to raise climate awareness, transcending geographical and linguistic barriers. CliVEx provides a unique platform for students to engage in discussions, share experiences, and collaborate on climate-related issues. We aim to deepen the understanding of climate change’s multifaceted dimensions and to inspire a global perspective on this challenge.
The Sharing Perspectives Foundation is as partner in the project responsible for the design and implementation of the Virtual Exchange course Climate Justice: From Inequality to Inclusion.
‘Climate Justice: From Inequality to Inclusion’ is an interactive, international, online learning experience about one of humanity’s biggest challenges: Finding just and inclusive ways to respond to the climate crisis. Through Virtual Exchange, students from diverse national and cultural backgrounds learn with – and from – each other, by engaging in dialogue, skill-building activities, and an activating group project.

…Climate Justice Fall 2024
CliVEx is an EU-funded international project that aims to enhance intercultural dialogue between students from Europe and the Southern Mediterranean area on the topic of climate change.
Over the course of this 10-week programme, students meet online on a weekly basis for a two-hour group session guided by trained facilitators, to exchange ideas on the week’s topic(s) and discuss the content. They also engage in relationship building activities and exercises to enhance their intercultural competencies. Alongside group learning, this course includes a curriculum offering engaging bite-sized audiovisual materials like videos, articles and podcasts. These materials provide information on key concepts, as well as spotlight a range of perspectives and voices on the sociopolitical dimensions of climate change. The curriculum is designed to provoke thoughts and critical thinking, provide starters for discussions, and create awareness.

Climate Movements Fall 22
This 9-week Virtual Exchange will focus on one of humanity’s biggest questions: climate change.
In this online, international Virtual Exchange participants from different countries and cultural backgrounds come together weekly in their groups to learn with, and from, each other. Stimulated by curated audio-visual materials, participants discuss the themes of the course and engage in interactive assignments.
What’s it all about
The conversation about climate is a conversation about movement. Scientists point to the slow but steady upward movement of the planet’s temperature. Activists demand movement and change from governments and policymakers. Unprecedented global youth movements have emerged and shifted public discourse. New and more extreme climatic events are forcibly displacing people from their homes or livelihoods, and depleted natural resources threaten stability and peace. Still, beliefs and behaviours about climate are often unmoving. You get to explore the key debates around climate through a curated audio-visual lecture series, providing materials from experts, journalists and practitioners. See the weekly topics below for more on the content of this Virtual Exchange.
